Motivation in Action

11th International Conference on Motivation
with preceding Summer School

University of Turku, Finland, August 21-23, 2008

Since 1985 the International Conference on Motivation has taken place biennially at numerous locations across Europe: researchers from all over the world and from different disciplines have met to discuss issues and to share experiences concerning the field of motivation.

The conference was initially called "Workshop on Achievement and Task Motivation (WATM)" and renamed as International Conference on Motivation in 2004. Since 1996, the conference is organized cooperatively with EARLI's Special Interest Group Motivation and Emotion.

The first Summer School was organized in Landau 2006, preceding the 10th conference. The 11th Conference will continue this new tradition with Summer School for young scholars all over the world, interested in motivation and emotion in different disciplines.

The 11th Conference challenges the researchers to boldly open new avenues for research on motivation and emotion, to cross the bridges between disciplines, to suggest new methods and approaches as well as to cultivate the avenues of well-established research in the field.

Invited keynote speakers at the 11th International Conference on Motivation are:
Mary Ainley, Australia
Jere Brophy, USA
Anastasia Efklides, Greece
Katariina Salmela-Aro, Finland
Gale M. Sinatra, USA

The Conference offers symposia and individual paper sessions as well as poster sessions. The official language of the Conference is English.
