Learning, Motivation and Regulation in Cultural and Social Contexts

The theoretical background is grounded in an interest in understanding how people create and mediate knowledge in social interaction and appropriate (i.e. learn to use) the cultural tools that are available in society. The aim is to develop a detailed theoretical framework, which combines the analysis of individual level cognitive, emotional and motivational processes, the use of external resources, and the individual and social coordination of learning activities and motivation. In addition, based on this integrative framework, we aim at developing new methodological approaches for catching empirically individual and social level processes of learning.
