Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (LaTHE)
The research on higher education is closely linked to the teaching support and pedagogical in-service training in the University of Turku. Main research areas are development of scientific thinking, learning orientations, epistemic beliefs and development of expertise in teaching and in specific academic domains. In addition, the research focuses on learning difficulties, on the impact of different alternative pedagogical approaches (e.g. case-, project- and problem-based models), and on university as a structural and cultural environment.
