Professor Wolfgang Schneider

Wolfgang Schneider is Professor of Educational and Developmental Psychology at the Department of Psychology, University of Würzburg, Germany. His research interests include teaching-learning processes, prevention of dyslexia, reading and spelling in childhood and adolescence,  and the development of cognition, in particular,  memory and metacognition.

Professor Schneider has published numerous books, journal articles, and book chapters on these issues. He was the editor of German Journal of Developmental and Educational Psychology, an associate editor of the European Journal of Psychology of Education, and  is currently member of the editorial board of several international journals, including the Journal of Educational Psychology and Cognitive Development. He was Vice-President and President of the German Psychological Society, and  recently became President-Elect of the International Society for the Study of Behavioral Development. He is currently Vice-President of the University of Würzburg.
